Estimator - Plumbing & Heating Contractor
This role involves the full estimating process to submit tenders for the plumbing & heating package for large scale new build housing contracts with a typical value from £100k to in excess of £1M. The majority of these contracts are new build housing developments.
The ideal candidate should preferably have experience in estimating domestic plumbing & heating contracts. Candidates will be considered with previous experience in construction estimating, or plumbing & heating. Excellent IT skills are preferred, with basic skills essential, particularly in the use of Microsoft Excel.
The role involves:
- Full estimating responsibility, from logging enquiry to submitting final tender
- Taking off quantities from drawings
- Pricing bills of quantities
- Reviewing specification documents in detail
- Logging all tender packages received
- Managing and prioritising an unpredictable workload
- Using in house system to formulate tenders
- Compiling tender letters to include all conditions of offer
- Assessing relevant tender qualifications
- Following up all tenders submitted
- Negotiating with clients to win contracts
The successful candidate will report directly to the managing director.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in cost control techniques
- Experience in plumbing& heating industry
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel for data analysis
- IT skills for communication and project management
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
